The funniest weirdest thing happened today
In the next couple of days I will post a round up of everything that we have done in Vancouver – like I’ve said in a previous post, this city is great and it seems to capture everything in terms of atmosphere, food, culture, style, houses etc.
Anyway, today something happened stumped both Katie and myself.
Today we went to Granville Island and the famous farmers market. There was a lot of food there, a lot of variety, it all looked so delicious and everything was so fresh and colourful, yum yum.
In an aim to save some money we decided to have a crappy slice of pizza, we wanted to seat down and eat it but there were no seats available inside so we decided to go outside… let me pause here for a moment and say that Granville Island is obviously an island, it’s surrounded by water and where there is water (sea), there are sea gulls.
Anyway, there were no seats inside so we decided to go outside and eat our pizza slice on a bench next to the sea – the situation was building up to one of those nice moments that couples have.
It was windy and I could feel my napkins flying away so I placed them over my pizza with my hand holding them down. Katie was ahead of me and no more than 5 seconds after we stepped outside, a seagull suddenly flew past my head and knocked Katie’s pizza slice from her paper plate. Katie stood there shocked and wondering WTF. Many sea gulls surrounded the slice on the floor and within another 5 seconds her pizza slice disappeared. Katie had no idea what had just happened, she even thought it was me knocking her pizza on the floor. Needless to say, there were so many seagulls there that we went back inside and by this time I was laughing my ass of as I could see that Katie was still shocked from the incident, it was just so random – freaking seagulls.
After we went back in we realised that there were signs everywhere saying beware of the sea gulls LOL
